FIRST & LAST INSTRUCTIONS

I often get confused at all the advice given by experts. When this happens, I go to the great rule maker who is the divine expert, who gave "... a principle with promise, adapted to the capacity of the weak and the weakest of all". He has "ordained every herb in the season thereof, and every fruit in the season thereof" to be used "with prudence." Also, "flesh of beasts" (red meat) and "fowls of the air" (poultry), to be used sparingly; ..."all grain... to be the staff of life". Also the "fruit of the vine (vegetables and fruit) ...in and above the ground." If we want to receive health and wisdom and and energy, we need to just follow these directions. Are you sure the italic words aren't in the scriptures? Just joking mom---great advice! I feel the same way.

Since August I have been focusing more on eating meat sparingly, also I would add verse 13 about meat "it is pleasing unto me that they should not be used, only in times of winter, or of cold, or famine."

I got to thinking about it after Brad and I had HUGE hamburgers at the Brooklyn Diner... and I felt so gross. I didn't overeat- it was just a big portion of meat - and it made me ill. I have only had meat a couple of times since and my body feels a lot better.

I always thought of meat as the main course - the biggest part of a meal. But there really is so much variety out there and other food we can eat. I haven't missed it at all.

Perfectly put! Thank you!

I love Jill's comment, we need to remember to use all of these sparingly and not just one more than the other.

No one could say it better!

I have a hard time thinking up things to make and it seems like I revert to "meat as the main course" type of thinking. So I would love to see some more recipes, weekly menu plans or whatever you guys have up your sleeves to help me get out of my rut of non-creative meal ideas.

Thanks!
